Prayer—Its Necessity and Centrality

“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance but laying hold of His willingness.”

Martin Luther

Dear church family,

One of my favorite times of the year is approaching. Which time is that? Our November season of prayer! It is a time of individual and corporate prayer focused on just a few select petitions. Generally, it is guided by a psalm. This year is Psalm 95. Our praying is centered around the themes found in the psalm but also our own particular needs as a church family. (Please see the specific petitions listed below.) If you have not signed up yet, then please take a moment and this Sunday, commit to a day or two for the season of prayer. Thank you for interceding for the good of the church and for the glory of the Lord. Have a blessed week and we will see many of you on Sunday.

Love in Christ,

Pastor Dale

Psalm 95 The Road Church Season of Prayer November 2025

Throughout the month, but particularly on the day/s you signed up, please focus on and pray for the following:

  • That the Lord would enlarge your own understanding of who He is (the great King and keeper of his sheep) and that our praise to him and of him to others would increase.
  • That the Lord would grant us a thorough repentance and remove from us a tendency to grumble (Massah and Meribah) and lead us to treasure Christ who is our rest.
  • That the Lord would send our church family into a season of revitalization which would result in a multi-generational impact (disciples who make disciples).
  • That the elders would clearly discern the Lord’s will regarding a possible partnership with Calvary Blue Springs as Dan Neighbors and Calvary’s members seek to replant that church and that we as a congregation would sacrifice accordingly to help them in this effort. (7[2]-1-0-10)
