Charles AckmannAssociate Pastor
“I was brought up in a Christian home. I learned about the gospel of Jesus Christ at a very young age. I even prayed a sinner’s prayer when I was a child, but I was not changed. My life was not changed by the Holy Spirit of God to love holiness and hate my own sin. But God, when I was about 22 years old, chose to cause me to be born again to a living hope through Jesus Christ. I remembered the gospel. I loved the gospel. I desired holiness. I despised my sinfulness.
Praise God! He has made me a new creation in Christ Jesus! Since then, I have seen God working in so many incredible ways. I have, with God’s help, followed Jesus Christ through a winding road. By his direction and provision he has brought me through a cross-country move, marriage to my wonderful wife Debra, the birth of four sons, a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, a Master’s of Divinity at Bethlehem College and Seminary, Minneapolis, another cross-country move, and now into this role of Associate Pastor of The Road church. I am amazed! I would have never in a million years thought that this adventure with God would lead to becoming a pastor!
Now, it is my great joy to teach, preach, and pray the Bible over this church for as long as God keeps me here. I pray that he will continue to lead me on this great adventure of life in Christ for many, many years with this church. I love these people. May God grant great growth in holiness, and knowledge of God to us as we labor together to minister the gospel to this community.”
When not reading, teaching, or preaching the Bible, Charles enjoys listening to the Royals play on the radio, while cooking on the grill and playing catch with his boys in the back yard.
