Dear Church,
Last week, I offered up a Christmas poem, entitled I Heard Healing in the Babe’s Cry. This week our poem, Snow Day, is written by Linda Gammon. Christmas is a time of great joy for Jesus “will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) May your season be filled with contentment, joy, and peace. Have a blessed week and we will see you on Sunday.
Love in Christ,
Pastor Dale
Snow Day
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7
We wait,
like children for Christmas,
watching out the window
for the first flake
promised by the forecast
and the silent silver sky.
We long,
like beggars for a meal,
hungry to our bones
for forgiveness
offered by the Savior
sent to the world in winter.
We find,
like prisoners set free,
a new life, its fresh start
a white blanket
to cover our transgressions
so we can bear the cold.
